Flowery Branch man faces additional charges of child sexual exploitation

By B.J. Williams
A Flowery Branch man who was arrested last fall for owning electronic devices containing sexually explicit videos of children is now facing additional charges.

Hall County Sheriff's Office spokesman Derreck Booth said detectives this week finished processing the electronic devices seized from Steven Joseph Robertson's home on Oct. 17, 2019 and found more illegal videos.

In October, Hall County investigators received a cyber tip from the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. That tip led them to the 27-year-old Robertson's home on Compass Drive. In their initial search, investigators found several electronic devices that Robertson had apparently used to access 26 videos of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct with adults. According to Booth, Robertson had uploaded the videos between May and June of 2019.

Booth said a more in-depth search of the devices led investigators to more lewd videos.

"They located additional videos of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct," Booth said in a press statement. "He [Robertson] is now charged with a total of 52 counts of sexual exploitation of children as a result of the Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigation."

Robertson remained in the Hall County Jail with no bond.
