Charges are pending in a traffic accident that killed a 24-year-old Lawrenceville man earlier this week.
The fatal crash happened Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Duluth Highway and Lakes Parkway, according to a report from the Gwinnett County Police Department.
Investigators said Samantha Dixon, 33, of Lawrenceville was driving westbound on Duluth Highway in a Kia Sportage SUV. The motorcyclist, Devaughan Jones of Lawrenceville, was traveling eastbound. Dixon told officers she was making a left turn onto Lakes Parkway when she collided with the motorcycle.
Jones, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene.
Investigators said alcohol did not appear to play a part in the crash.

The case remains under investigation; charges could be filed at a later date.
