FLOWERY BRANCH – The Cherokee Bluff Lady Bears might just be peaking at the right time.
They’ve won the last three out of four games, including an upset Region 7-3A win over leader Dawson County last week.
Senior guard Maddie Thomas has been instrumental in the Lady Bears success.
Since returning to the lineup after a bout with mono, Thomas has averaged 18 ppg, and she scored 31 points against North Oconee and 18 in the win over Dawson County.
For that reason, she's been named this week’s conditioned air systems athlete of the week.
We had a chance to catch up with Thomas and her coach, Lindsay Justice, to talk about her play, the team's play and what to expect from the Lady Bears down the stretch.
