Gaining the Edge: Johnson shines in win over West Hall

By Bo Wilson | Video by Seth Chapman

OAKWOOD — Johnson coach Stan Luttrell and seniors Nolan Bullock and Vashon Johnson sat down this week to talk about the Knights' 30-27 win over arch-rival West Hall last Friday.

The Knights’ victory over the Spartans ended a six-game skid, but as usual, Luttrell and the Knights, although riding high after the big win, were back to business as usual this week.

The Knights held West Hall to just 145 total yards of offense, including grinding out the final eight minutes of clock to set up a Steven Flores game-winning field goal.

The grind is what gave the Knights the edge in this year’s edition of the Battle of the Oakwood, and it's the reason they've earned this week's Conditioned Air Systems Gaining the Edge honors.
