New park gets a new name in Forsyth County

A new Forsyth County park near the new Denmark High School on Mullinax Road will likely share the same name as the school.

Parks and Recreation Director Jim Pryor told county leaders that Parks and Recreation board the recommended name for the Mullinax Road project. Pryor told the board, "Now that we've purchased the property, I'd like to go ahead and come up with a name for it so we can identify it in the future. This item was taken to the Parks and Recreation board where they unanimously recommended 'Denmark Park' for the name, but, ultimately, it's your choice."

Several commissioners asked if the public offered any input on the name, but ultimately a unanimous vote puts the name Denmark Park on the agenda for the next regular meeting.
