Two Forsyth County men are dead after an apparent murder-suicide on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, a uniformed patrol of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) was dispatched to a home off Jefferson Place off Highway 9 after the ex-wife of a man said he did not show up to work.
The ex-wife found 46-year-old Anthony Gennaro Persichetti dead inside his home and called the FCSO. The ex-wife then told detectives that Persichetti shared the home with their 24-year-old son, Anthony David Persichetti, and was afraid the son may have been involved.
While attempting to locate the son, FSCO dispatch received a call from the Dekalb Medical Examiner’s Office requesting deputies to make a death notification. The son was found along a wooded area of North Druid Hills Road in DeKalb County with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Investigators said that sometime between 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the son, Anthony David, and his father got into an altercation, and the son shot his father multiple times. Following the assault of his father, the son left the home and committed suicide in Dekalb County.
This investigation is ongoing.
