The Forsyth County Fire Department will benefit from land being purchased by commissioners.
Deputy County Manager Tim Merritt gave the details about the purchase of the 7 acre property on Browns Bridge Road to the board and said, "The value that we have agreed upon is $285,000, $10,000 earnest money, 120 day due diligence period, and closing would be 30 days thereafter."
Fire Department Chief Danny Bowman spoke about the use of the land as a, "...replacement (of) Fire Station Number 9, currently located on Hwy 369, which is an old volunteer fire station from about 30 years ago."
The board unanimously approved the purchase.
