State and Jackson County fire officials are currently investigating the cause for a residential structure fire that has fatal results this morning in Pendergrass.
Social media posts from the West Jackson Fire Department say thay their units mutually aided North Jackson Fire Department and Jackson County's Correctional Fire Department for a call on a structure fire with entrapments at approximately 3:45 AM at a Park Street address in the city of Pendergrass.
Units arrived to find heavy fire and multiple victims, Crews from North Jackson and West Jackson performed a search of the residence and rescued one victim from inside the structure. There was one confirmed fatality and two other victims were transported by Jackson County EMS for burns.
The Georgia State Fire Marshal's Office is on scene investigating the fire as of last publication. Names of the victims have not been released.
