The Georgia State Patrol said an Alpharetta man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a motorcycle crash near the Lumpkin County-Union County line.
Troopers said Matthew Cohen was riding a motorcycle on State Route 11 and lost control of the bike near mile marker 9.
Investigators said he was driving too fast for conditions around sharp curves and laid the bike down on the highway. The bike slid into oncoming traffic and was hit by an oncoming van.
Cohen died at the scene.
The fatal accident happened around 3 p.m.
