$1.1M Suwanee home heavily damaged by fire, no injuries reported

Nobody was injured, but a Suwanee home, which was on the market for $1.1 million, was heavily damaged after a fire broke out Tuesday.

A passerby called 911 shortly before 10 a.m. reporting fire and smoke coming from the multi-story home, which is located in a gated community on Brendlynn Drive, said Capt. Tommy Rutledge, Gwinnett County Fire Department public information officer.

The home was not being lived in at the time, and was listed for sale at $1,099,990, according to the real estate website Zillow.

"Firefighters arrived on scene and found heavy fire involvement to the left side of the home — flames shooting through the roof. It was a pretty intense fire when the first truck arrived on scene," said Rutledge.

As of 3 p.m. firefighters were still putting out hotspots.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
