GBI announces arrests in separate Toccoa shootings

UPDATED: The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has announced arrests in Wednesday’s deadly shooting in Toccoa, as well as a separate shooting late last month.

Kentavius Broudmain Walker, 21, and Ty’Jai Trammel, 23, both of Toccoa, were arrested Thursday and charged with malice murder and felony murder in the death of Joel Keshon Green, 18, of Toccoa, the GBI announced Friday afternoon, Aug. 10.

That incident happened about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, in the area of South Alexander Street.

GBI agents, Toccoa Police Department investigators, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol and agents with the Appalachian Drug Enforcement Office worked to identify those charged.

Walker also is charged with aggravated assault in connection with a July 26 shooting in Toccoa.

Walker and Samantha Breanna Walker, 17, both of Toccoa were arrested this week in connection with the shooting of Spencer Reason, 17, of Toccoa, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced earlier today, Aug. 10.

The shooting incident happened about 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 26, on Prather Bridge Road near Rickman Street.

Reason was shot multiple times and was hospitalized for treatment of his injuries. 

Toccoa Police Department investigators and GBI agents worked diligently to follow leads in the case, resulting in the arrests, according to GBI spokeswoman Nelly Miles. 

The investigations are ongoing. When concluded, the cases will be provided to the Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
