In a post on the White County School System website, Superintendent Jeff Wilson said a student made a threat at White County Middle School Thursday.
Wilson did not say what the nature of the threat was, but he said the school contacted administrators and law enforcement immediately.
"At no time were students at WCMS in danger," Wilson wrote.
The student has been removed from the school while an investigation is conducted.
Thursday's threat in White County is one of dozens that have taken place across the region in the aftermath of the deadly school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.
