A bridge along Ga. 53 at Lake Lanier will close Monday and Tuesday nights in Hall County as crews build a new bridge.
Lane closures will happen between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night on and near Boling Bridge, between Little Hall Park and Dogwood Path, according to a news release from the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Drivers will begin taking an onsite detour starting at 6 a.m. Wednesday, said Katie Strickland, GDOT spokeswoman.
"Crews will be working in close proximity to the travel lanes, (and) motorists are reminded to drive alert and slow down in the work zone," said Strickland.
The detour will remain in place until the new bridge is completed in 2019.
