The Georgia Department of transportation will close a single lane of State Route 20 in Gwinnett County as part of the widening project Monday through Wednesday.
The lane closures will take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. starting Monday and lasting through Wednesday between Sugar Hill Road and James Burgess Road, according to a press release from the DOT.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction, intermittently. The DOT warns drivers will need to slow down as they approach the work zone because contractors will be in close proximity to travel lanes.
The work allows fiber optic cable that allows communication between the corridors traffic signals to be placed in the area.
