LAHAINA, Hawaii — The Georgia men’s golf team wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule on Sunday with a sixth-place finish in the Ka’anapali Collegiate Classic.
Playing the par-71, 6,700-yard layout at the Ka’anapali Golf Course, the Bulldogs fired a 2-over 286 in the third round to wind up at 5-under 847. LSU took team honors at 31-under 821, followed by South Carolina at 24-under 828 and California at 23-under 829.
Sophomore Spencer Ralston paced the Bulldogs on Sunday with a 2-under 69. Freshman Davis Thompson added a 1-under 70, followed by sophomore Trevor Phillips at 1-over 72 and freshman John Hilliard Catanzaro at 4-over 75. Sophomore Will Chandler had the Bulldogs’ non-counting score of 8-over 79.
Ralston finished ninth individually at 7-under 206. California’s K.K. Limbhasut claimed medalist honors at 12-under 201. Phillips took 14th at 4-under 209, followed by Thompson at 2-under 211, Catanzaro at 8-over 221 and Chandler at 17-over 230.
Playing as an individual, junior Matthew Beringer fired a 6-over 77 Sunday and moved to 6-over 219 for the tournament.
The Bulldogs’ next event will be the Puerto Rico Classic Feb. 20-22.
