UPDATED: Six people were hurt and one driver is facing charges as a result of a two-vehicle wreck on Ga. 365 at Crane Mill Road near Alto Saturday night.

A white 2001 Honda Accord driven by William Patrick of Demorest was traveling west on Crane Mill Road, crossing Ga. 365, and was struck in the right front by a brown 2009 Dodge Charger driven by Brian Johnsa of Buford, according to Trooper 1st Class Joseph Tucker of Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa. Johnsa’s car was traveling south on Ga. 365 in the right lane.

Impact occurred in the intersection, then the Honda rotated counter-clockwise and came to a stop in the left southbound lane of Ga. 365, according to GSP. After impact, the Dodge ran off the right side of the roadway, traveled across both southbound lanes, crossed the median and came to a stop in the left northbound lane of Ga. 365 facing northeast.

Johnsa suffered lower extremity injuries, according to Tucker.

Tucker said all four of Johnsa’s passengers were hurt.

♦ Jerry Madwell of Flowery Branch, suffered hip injuries.

♦ Sue Johnsa of Buford suffered back injuries.

♦ Norma Madwell of Buford suffered neck injuries.

♦ Debbie Madwell of Flowery Branch suffered neck injuries.

Patrick, who suffered injuries to his chest, is charged with driving under the influence, serious injury by vehicle, and failure to yield while crossing the roadway, Tucker said.
