By Will Daughtry News Reporter

An Oakwood Police detective was arrested by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) on Aug. 3 in Flowery Branch for a DUI charge.

Police Chief for the City of Oakwood Tim Hatch confirmed 48-year-old Christopher Travis Campbell is on paid administrative leave pending an internal investigation.

“The process here requires an internal investigation,” Hatch said. “We’re taking it carefully to make sure we get all the facts evaluated just like we would any other case.”

Hatch said he could not comment on the direction of the investigation because he has not been presented all the “facts and circumstances” at this time.

Campbell has since been released on $5,830 bond according to HCSO.
