ATLANTA (AP) Democrat Jim Barksdale has released his first television ad as he seeks to unseat Republican U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson.
The ad released Monday criticizes Isakson's support of trade deals. Barksdale also argues that Democrats and Republicans have supported deals that he says ``send our jobs overseas.''
Barksdale's campaign didn't say where the ad will air or what it cost.
Barksdale, a wealthy investment manager from Atlanta, is a newcomer to state politics. His primary ads focused on introducing himself to voters statewide. The ad unveiled Monday blends that approach with direct criticism of Isakson and a broader hit on both parties' approach to trade.
Isakson so far has rolled out two ads. Both focused on his legislative work and didn't mention Barksdale. Libertarian Allen Buckley also is in the race.
