A Hall County man was arrested Friday, charged with holding a woman against her will and beating her with brass knuckles, breaking several bones.
Timothy Craig Edge, 42, allegedly committed the crime against his ex-girlfriend June 30, according to Hall County Sheriff's Lt. Scott Ware; Edge allegedly broke the woman's tailbone and several ribs.
The victim was taken by one of Edge's relatives, who is not a suspect in this case, to Northeast Georgia Medical Center and treated for her injuries.
Edge and his girlfriend, Erica Joy Dean, 37, were arrested Friday by members of the Hall County Sheriff's Office and the SWAT team, which Ware said was called to the scene as a precaution.
"Edge has a pretty violent past. He was convicted of aggravated battery back in the '90s," said Ware.
Edge is charged with kidnapping and aggravated battery. Dean is charged with hindering the apprehension of a fugitive, a charge that stemmed from her attempts to keep police from finding Edge.
Ware said Dean told police that Edge was not in the residence and that she had not seen him, which turned out to be untrue.
As of Monday afternoon, Edge remained in custody, while Dean had posted bond.
