Suwanee Police win 'Agency of the Year' award

The Suwanee Police Department has been recognized as the Phyllis Goodwin Agency of the Year by the FBI's National Academy Associates (FBINAA).

The award, given annually, recognizes agencies that excel in support of the FBINAA Georgia Chapter, according to a press release from Abby Wilkerson, Suwanee public information officer.

“The Suwanee Police Department personnel who have graduated from the FBI National Academy serve as active members of the FBINAA’s Georgia Chapter, serving in leadership and support positions throughout the years,” said Suwanee Chief of Police Mike Jones.

Winners "present themselves in a manner that (lends) strength, dignity and credit to the law enforcement profession."

The award is named for Phyllis Goodwin, who worked with the FBI for 38 years, mostly as a police training tech.
