A 16-foot wide tractor trailer with over 430,000 pounds of total weight will be moving through parts of northeast Georgia next week on its way to Buford.
The 13-foot, 3-inch tall mega load has 14 axles and began traveling Wednesday but will remain parked over the weekend.
It will resume its journey Tuesday morning around 9:00. Morning to mid-afternoon traffic could be impacted, or slowed, according to the state Department of Transportation, because of the load’s excessive size. It will be esorted by state troopers at a speed of 50 mph through Banks, Barrow, Jackson, and Hall counties, on both state roads and interstate highways.
The tractor trailer will use the following roads to travel from Lavonia to Buford.
· SR 63 west
· SR 63/59 south
· SR 164 west
· US-441/SR 15
· Interstate 85 south
· SR 20
· Interstate 985 north
· SR 347
