Shriners ready for Saturday parade down Gainesville's Green St.

By AccessWDUN Staff
GAINESVILLE — Marching bands, clowns, mini cars and antique vehicles will all be part of this Saturday's Nobles of Yaarab Shrine parade in Gainesville led by the Lanier Shrine Club.

The parade steps off at 10:30 a.m. and runs the length of Green Street.

Organizers said in a press statement that the September 19th parade is a way for the Shriners to show their appreciation for Greater Hall County’s continuing support. The Lanier Shrine Club is among the clubs across the country that raise money for the 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children; and Yaarab Shrine is one of the top organizations each year in their level of support.  All care for children under 18 is entirely funded through donations.

The Gainesville Police Department will close the side streets around Green Street beginning around 9:30 am.  Green Street itself will be shut down at 10:15 a.m. until the completion of the parade.
