GAINESVILLE - The Georgia State Patrol has released details of a fatal single-vehicle wreck that happened Monday afternoon in Banks County.
Trooper 1st Class J.S. Munger of GSP Post 6 in Gainesville provided details.
The crash occurred at 12:33 p.m. on Georgia 198 east of Georgia 15 (U.S. 441) near Dailey Road.
Munger said the wreck involved a Buick passenger car driven by 85-year-old Bobbie Taylor of Baldwin.
Taylor's car was traveling east on Georgia Highway 198.
Munger said Taylor's car failed to maintain its lane, traveled off the right shoulder of the roadway and down an embankment, striking a tree with its front.
The car came to rest on the south shoulder of Georgia 198.
Taylor, who was properly restrained, died while being airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital, Munger said.
