A man was seriously injured and a home was declared a total loss following a house fire along Ga. 323 near Maysville Sunday.
Banks County Fire and Emergency Services were called to the scene just before 2 p.m. to find the single-family residence heavily involved with fire. A male victim was also found laying in the yard with second and third degree burns on 25% of his body. A release from the department said nearby residents reported hearing explosions at the time of the fire.
The patient was treated on the scene and transported to Grady Hospital’s Burn Center for his injuries.
The fire was terminated just before 5 p.m. The cause for the incident remains under investigation by the Banks County Fire Department.
