Gwinnett authorities, other agencies nab 13 gang suspects, 5 still at large

LAWRENCEVILLE—Gwinnett County police, along with a host of other agencies, have arrested thirteen gang members associated with "La Gran Familia," a gang that presides over several other gangs.

According to a press release from Cpl. Deon Washington with GCPD, authorities attempted to arrest 18 gang members on 38 felony arrest warrants and 22 federal arrest warrants on Wednesday, May 20.

La Gran Familia reportedly rules over gangs known as the "Latin Kings," "Brown Side Locos," "Malditos 13" and "Pachucos 21." Gang members reportedly buy and sell drugs and guns, something authorities figured out during their two-year investigation.

Police also seized $61,084 in cash, 17.9 grams of marijuana, 302 Xanax pills, 8.7 grams of cocaine and 957.6 grams of methamphetamine during that time frame.

Five members are still at large, and authorities identified them as Spencer "Speedy" Clark, Adan "Panzaz" Garcia, Patrick "Little Grumpy" Mendez, Juan Jose "Sleepy" Rodriguez, and Jose "Demon" Velasquez.

The ATF, FBI, DEA, U.S. Marshals and ICE assisted in the investigation.
