Baseball: War Eagles score 4 in 7th to beat White County

GAINESVILLE -- Chestatee scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh, capped by a walk-off double from Sean Irick for an 8-7, Region 8-AAAA win over White County on Wednesday.

Chestatee led 4-2 going into the top of the seventh but surrendered five runs in the top of the inning to trail White County (5-12, 3-6 Region 8-AAAA) 7-4.

The War Eagles (8-7, 4-3) battled back in the bottom of the inning.

The War Eagles were led at the plate by Brian Crawford, who banged out three singles. Joe Sutton and Caleb Jameson had two hits apiece.

Mikey Petraroi hit a double and a single and Irick finished 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI for the game. Peyton Rider also had a two-run double for Chestatee.

Caleb Jameson pitched six innings allowing just two runs but left the game with the bases loaded and the score tied.

Eric George came in relief to pick up the win for the War Eagles.

The Warriors have lost five of their last seven games. Chestatee snapped a three-game losing streak with the victory.

The two teams will meet again on Friday in Cleveland.
