Rally against Ga. immigration law planned in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE - A rally is planned in downtown Gainesville Saturday by groups opposed to recently enacted immigration legislation in Georgia.

The rally against what organizers call "anti-immigrant legislation" and "discrimination," is planned at Roosevelt Square from 10:00-12:00.

Sponsors include the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials, Habersham Families Helping Families, Students for a Progressive Society of Gainesville, North Georgia Immigrant Justice, the Democratic Party of Habersham County and several churches.

Gov. Nathan Deal signed the law last week.
