CLARKESVILLE -- Habersham County Schools Superintendent Robert Costley is excited about his selection as the new school superintendent in Butts County.
"Yes, there's been no official resignation or anything like that yet," Costley said by phone in confirming the new position Thursday following an out-of-town conference.
"I was named as the sole finalist and approved for the position at Butts County," he said. "I don't know when I'm going to start yet."
"My first priority is making sure that Habersham County and the board of education is taken care of, and making sure our students and staff don't miss a beat," Costley said. "I want to make sure this is a smooth transition for them."
"I'll always be grateful and thankful for the time I've had in Habersham County," he said, adding it has been a learning and growing experience.
"I'm also looking forward very much to my new home in Butts County, which is a beautiful area and also a great place to raise three kids," Costley said.
