Hall breaks ground at Cherokee Bluffs Park

FLOWERY BRANCH - Hall County Parks and Leisure Services broke ground Thursday for Cherokee Bluffs Park, a park to feature activities close to nature.

In rapidly developing South Hall County this park will preserve scenic Hall County according to Parks Advisory Board Chairman Larry Poole.

"It think it's just so important to preserve some green areas for the residents in this part of the county for them to come and enjoy; from that stand-point this is going to become a very special, meaningful place," Poole said.

The 101 acre park with walking trails, bike trails, picnic pavilions and fishing ponds should be ready for public use by next spring on Black Jack Road.

Nearby resident Paul Williams said the park would preserve the land the way he remembers it growing up in the area.

"I had cattle over here for about 15 years, it'll be pretty, its just the perfect place for a park," Williams said.
