Courier 'delivers' $145,000

GAINESVILLE - It was, as Yogi Berra would say, "de ja vu all over again" recently for a Gainesville woman who plays the Georgia Lottery - only much bigger this time around.

Last month, Sharlene Brown, who works as a courier, won $1,000 playing Jumbo Jumbo Bucks, a Georgia Lottery instant game. Now she is celebrating an even bigger win. She played Wild 10's and won $145,000.

Brown says she was sitting in her car when she scratched the ticket. She was so excited about her good luck that she got out of her car and started jumping up and down. "I was kind of stunned," Ms. Brown says. "I didn't believe it."

The 52-year-old is still deciding what she will do with her winnings.

Brown purchased her winning ticket at Gainesville BP. The store is located at 1724 Park Hill Dr. NE in Gainesville.
