Another new hotel planned on westside

GAINESVILLE - A hotel is in the works for the west side of Gainesville less than two miles from where a new Holiday Inn is planned.

It's planned for a two-acre tract at 1749 Browns Bridge Road near the Dixie Drive intersection.

A request to the vary the stream buffer and storm water management requirements for the site is on the agenda for the March 14 Gainesville Planning & Appeals Board meeting.

Though construction has been stalled for a time, developers of the Holiday Inn, on Jewell Parkway near Dorsey Street, said a few weeks ago they intend to go through with the project.
