GAINESVILLE - Funeral services will be held Thursday for a well-known Gainesville architect.
H. Lloyd Hill died at his home following an extended illness.
In 1956, Hill started H. Lloyd Hill Architect, Inc. (now known as H. Lloyd Hill Architects and Associates, Inc.) in Atlanta.
He designed the first multi-storied Bank building (First National Bank, now Regions) in Gainesville and opened a second office in Gainesville in 1981. Over the course of his career, his firm, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, designed more than 800 banks in the southeastern United States, as well as many schools, churches, office buildings and homes.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 Thursday in the chapel at Little-Davenport Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 at College Park Cemetery in College Park, Ga. (A full obituary can be found elsewhere on this site.)
