RICHMOND, Va. (AP) Pole-sitter Kasey Kahne earned his first career win by capturing the Chevy American Revolution 400 at Richmond International Raceway.
Kahne ran first after finishing second six times in his career. He led for 242 of the 400 laps. Kahne was the pole-sitter for both the Nextel Cup and Busch Series race this weekend. He ran fourth in the Busch series.
Tony Stewart came second. It was his second runner-up finish this year. Ryan Newman ran third. Rookie Kyle Busch finished fourth followed by Kevin Harvick and Greg Biffle.
Nextel Cup series leader Jimmie Johnson and second-place series driver Jeff Gordon were involved in an early accident and did not finish.
