WATKINSVILLE, Ga. — The Cherokee Bluff tennis teams both held off Athens Academy on Wednesday for 3-2 wins on the road.
The boys got wins from James Rivenbark in straight sets and Boston Murphy in three sets in singles. The No. 1 doubles team of Jett Hewette and Neo Dang clinched the win.
For the girls, a sweep in the doubles sparked the win. The Lady Bears got a win from Bryson Bishop at No. 1 singles but had to survive three set marathons in both doubles.
Callie Vokal and Hannah Davis took a 6-4, 3-6, (12-10) win at No. 1 doubles while Chloe Davis and Callie West rallied from a set down for a (1-6, 7-5, (10-5) victory at No. 2 doubles.
