BETHLEHEM - One little northeast Georgia town wasn't slowing down in the days leading up to Christmas.
Bethlehem, in Barrow County, has been busy for weeks -- especially around the post office on Star Street.
Every year, people flock to the town near Athens so their Christmas cards will carry a postmark with the Biblical name.
All week, cars and trucks have lined up around the tiny post office. One woman posted 250 Christmas cards there Tuesday.
Postmistress Melanie Leigh says people have come from as far away as Macon and Asheville, North Carolina. She receives boxes of cards in the mail from all over the country asking for the postmark.
Bethlehem only postmarks its mail during the Christmas season. For the rest of the year, mail is sent to the post office in Athens.
