GAINESVILLE - John Morrow Parkway in Gainesville was closed between Jesse Jewell and Washington Street for over two hours because of a traffic accident Thursday afternoon.
The driver of a tractor trailer, Michael Bennett, 50, of Cumming, is charged with driving too fast for conditions.
Police Lt. Jeff Harris said the afternoon wreck made a big mess.
"It is a rendering truck that has turned over on its side and spilled its load about mid-way down John Morrow Parkway in the curve," Harris said.
Gainesville firefighters, police and the Department of Transportation spent the afternoon cleaning up the mess on the road.
The rig ended up tangled with a car. Everyone involved in the wreck, including a man and woman in the car, refused medical treatment.
While the road re-opened around 4:15 p.m., police said animal fat on the road continued to made driving conditions slick.
