GAINESVILLE - The trial of a Flowery Branch man accused of murdering his bother last year, which was scheduled to begin Monday in Hall County Superior Court, has been postponed.
Michael Wayne Shackelford, 45, was killed last April 15th.
Authorities say he was beaten to death by his brother, Mark Alan Shackelford, 44, at his home on Deaton Henry Road.
A Hall County sheriff's detective testified at a committal hearing last May that Mark Shackelford, who lived on Williams Road, struck his brother with a piece of wood while another man held him.
Murder charges against the second man were later reduced to involuntary manslaughter.
Hall County District Attorney Jason Deal said last week the start of the trial has been postponed and that no new trial date has been set.
