ATLANTA - Delta Air Lines will try to curb traffic at airport ticket counters this spring by encouraging passengers to use its automated check-in kiosks.
The Atlanta-based airline also plans to add telephone banks that will connect travelers with reservations agents.
Employees near entrances will direct passengers to the kiosks, the phone banks or ticket counter agents, depending on what help they need.
Company officials say the new system will be expanded at Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport and other hubs. Delta says it also will result in shorter lines, even at peak times.
Rob Maruster -- Delta director of airport strategy and services -- said ``it's going to look very nontraditional.''
