A student was reportedly stabbed at South Gwinnett High School in Snellville Wednesday morning.
That’s according to a letter sent to the school community by SGHS Principal Rodney D. Jordan.
Jordan said in the letter that the incident happened right before 7 a.m. when two students got into a fight. Another student tried to break it up and was stabbed. That student was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.
“Let me be clear: what happened today is unacceptable and will not be tolerated at South Gwinnett High School,” Jordan said in the letter.
The two involved in the fight will be disciplined by the school, and the student responsible for the stabbing was arrested and is facing criminal charges.
Jordan said the safety and security of students and staff is their highest priority, and their leadership team “responded swiftly and effectively.”
Jordan said if parents, guardians, or students see or hear something troubling to let them know.
