Gwinnett County Commission keeps millage rates steady

By Will Daughtry News Reporter

The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners adopted their millage rate for this year.

They kept the rate steady at 6.95 mills. According to a press release from Gwinnett County, most homeowners in the county will benefit from this rate since they will not see an increase in the county government portion of their tax bill even if there is an increase in property value.

"The county's commitment to fiscal responsibility is a shared partnership with our residents, ensuring that we can all navigate these economic challenges together while continuing to build and maintain a strong community,” Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson said. "By holding the rate steady for the sixth consecutive year, we have been, and will continue, delivering the high-quality government services our residents depend on.”

One mill equals one dollar per thousand dollars of assessed property value. The 2025 total property tax millage rate for property owners in unincorporated Gwinnett County will be 14.71.

The tax commissioner’s office will now mail property tax bills in September, with payments due by November.
