COMMERCE, Ga. – Commerce struggled to get anything going offensively in a 27-8 loss to Luella Friday night.
Luella got it going early as they finished off a 94-yard drive to score their first points of 2025 on a 4-yard rushing score with 7:44 to play in the first. The defenses stood strong until late in the half as the Lions scored again on another 4-yard rushing touchdown to end the half.
Commerce answered with 2:19 to play in the third as Layden Bryson called his own number for a 24-yard rushing score to make the score 14-6, but the Lions answered on the first play of the fourth quarter to push the lead back out to 14 points.
A Tiger safety with 6:47 to go brought Commerce closer, but Luella iced the game with a 2-yard score with 2:12 to play.
Commerce will look for their first win of the season next week as they wrap their three-game homestand with a matchup with Madison County.
