OAKWOOD, Ga. – East Hall bounced back Friday night in a big way, taking down Johnson, 55-12.
The Vikings took an early 14-0 lead as Jamarcus Harrison found Elijah Buffington to take an early 14-0 lead. Johnson answered immediately with Monty Young returning the ensuing kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown to cut the lead down to 14-6.
From there, it was all East Hall as Kani Williams returned the next kickoff 99 yards for a score before Kymani Hester intercepted a Knight pass, setting up Harrison for a 9-yard rushing score, to push the lead to 28-6.
Harrison had two more touchdowns before halftime, one on the ground and one through the air, to lead the Vikings to a 49-6 lead at intermission.
The Knights got a scoop-and-score for their second score of the night off a blocked punt by Syer Bryce that was picked up by Isael Hermida, but the Vikings finished off the win with a Damian Contreras rushing score, his second of the game.
East Hall will play host to North Hall next week, while Johnson travels to West Hall.
