NICHOLSON, Ga. – East Jackson got a big night from Branturan Callahan in a 37-22 win over Dawson County Friday.
Callahan had just four rushes but used his limited touches well, going for 185 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the jet sweep. Drew Richardson had 22 rushes for 102 yards and a touchdown, adding 96 passing yards and another touchdown in the win.
The Eagles jumped out to a 30-7 lead before the Tigers clawed back to trim the lead all the way down to 30-22 in the fourth quarter. That's when Jalen Stephens had a goal line interception late in the game to seal the win.
The Tigers were led by Gunner Weaver, who went 16-for-33 with 322 passing yards and two touchdowns.
East Jackson will return home next week to take on White County, while Dawson County will play at home for the first time this season when they welcome Banks County to Tiger Stadium.
