Sparta man arrested in Forsyth County on drug charges after traffic stop on GA 400

A man from Sparta was arrested on Friday, Aug. 22, after a traffic stop on GA 400 uncovered drugs and a firearm.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said 62-year-old Ernest Lee was pulled over at around 1:40 a.m. for failing to maintain his lane. 

K9 Goose and his handler arrived for a free air search, and deputies were alerted to possible drugs in the car.

A search of the car found 57.53 grams of methamphetamine, 29.10 grams of cocaine, a small amount of crack cocaine, less than an ounce of marijuana, numerous drug-related items and a firearm. 

The meth reportedly tested positive for fentanyl.

Lee was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking cocaine, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon during the commission of a felony and failure to maintain lane.

He was booked in the Forsyth County Jail with no bond.
