A 17-year-old Dahlonega teen was arrested Friday morning by Hall County authorities on multiple counts of terroristic threats and acts.

According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), they received an initial call about a 27-year-old woman receiving threatening text messages on the morning of Aug. 10.

Deputies responded to a house on Eubanks Creek Drive in Clermont due to the texter threatening to murder everyone at the home.

There were six people at the home, all family members. Deputies viewed the messages, and they indicated they were from a man the woman knew.

The texts reportedly continued, with the suspect threatening deputies at the scene and describing the deputies’ movements as if they were watching them.

The family was told to shelter inside the home while they tried to locate the suspect. They did not find anyone, and the family was escorted to a safe location away from the area.

Deputies spent the next few days searching for the alleged suspect, while investigators conducted interviews. The case finished on Friday, when investigators determined it was Carina Nevaeh Martin sending the texts, not the man.

Martin was booked into the Hall County Jail and she is being held on $9,100 bond.
