Barrow County Planning and Community Development will transition all applications for permits, business licenses, and development review to a new online portal beginning next week.
Barrow County said in a release Monday that during the launch of the new software system, staff will still be able to schedule existing permit-related inspections. Citizens visiting the office may still complete paper applications, though none will be entered into the system until the system change is complete.
“We appreciate the public’s patience as we transition to a new, more efficient software solution, which will only enhance our ability to process permits and licenses in the future,” Rebecca Whiddon, Barrow County Planning and Community Development Director, said. “As we make this critical move, we encourage anyone with questions to reach out to staff at [email protected].”
The software transition and related online tutorials will go live by Tuesday, Aug. 26.
