Commuters using a secondary road between Barrow and Jackson Counties will need to use state routes in their area for a travel alternate later this week.
Social media posts with Barrow County Government, the City of Hoschton and others say that a portion of Covered Bridge Road will be closed August 12th through August 15th as crews remove logs and other debris from underneath the bridge at the Jackson County Georgia Government and City of Hoschton line. A detour route will be in place along Highway 211, Highway 124 and Highway 53.
The posts indicated that drivers should use caution when entering construction zones and seek alternate routes where possible. Area residents should expect added commuter delays during daytime hours.
