SUWANEE, Ga. — North Forsyth dropped its season-opener to North Gwinnett, 5-1, on Wednesday on the road.
North Gwinnett broke a scoreless tie in the third, scoring three runs on a two-run double from Madison Kokoszka and a sacrifice fly.
North Forsyth scored its only run in the top of the fourth on a wild pitch. The Lady Raiders managed just three baserunners the rest of the way.
The Lady Bulldogs added a pair of runs in the fifth to pull away.
Addison Walker started and took the loss for North Forsyth, allowing three runs on three hits in three innings, striking out three and walking three.
Kokoszka got the win for North Gwinnett, scattering two hits and striking out five in 3 2/3 innings.
Brylee Britt had two of North Forsyth’s four hits to lead the offense.
North Forsyth next will travel to Cherokee on Thursday.
