The Hall County Government will start opening its community centers on Sundays starting in July.
Currently, the three centers are open Monday through Saturday of each week, but Hall County Commission Chairman David Gibbs said feedback from county residents led to the change.
"We, as a Board, approved this change following community input and a thorough review, in recommendation by parks staff," Gibbs said in a release Friday. "It's always a win for us as public servants to be able to extend County services for the betterment of our citizens and visitors."
The new schedule for the centers will take effect on Monday, July 7. The first Sunday the centers will be open will be July 13.
The new community center hours are listed below. The changes apply to the East Hall Community Center, the Mulberry Creek Community Center and the North Hall Community Center:
- Mondays through Fridays: 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Saturdays: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Sundays: 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Hall County Parks and Leisure officials said their studies into center usage led to the decision to operate on limited hours on Sundays. Officials also said at the North Hall Tech Center, located inside the North Hall Community Center, will remain closed on Sundays. The tech center is operated by the Hall County Library System.
