A Gainesville man was killed in a Tuesday night collision involving two vehicles on Cornelia Highway (Ga. 365) at White Sulphur Road.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday morning Richard Dean Short, 60, died at the scene of the crash.
Investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit and Uniform Patrol Division were dispatched to the scene just before 9:30 p.m.
Initial details in the investigation revealed Short was attempting to make a left turn from the northbound lanes of Cornelia Highway to the eastbound side of White Sulphur Road when he pulled into the path of a vehicle traveling southbound on Cornelia Highway.
Four occupants in the other vehicle complained of minor injuries, according to HCSO. Hall County emergency medical personnel evaluated them at the scene
Traffic in the area was impacted for about 90 minutes while AIU conducted its
investigation.
